Genetic Health Notes, This Pairing

Ichthyosis (ICH1). Luna carries one copy of the Golden Retriever variant; Apollo is clear. Roughly half the litter may carry one copy. No puppy in this pairing can be affected.

Copper Toxicosis (attenuating variants). Luna carries one copy each of two attenuating variants associated with lower copper accumulation; Apollo is clear. These are modifiers, not disease-causing variants, and no puppy in this pairing can inherit two copies of either.

No overlapping recessive risk is expected from this pairing based on available genetic data. Apollo tested clear across his full panel.

About Castor

Castor scored a near-even line of 3s across the evaluation, the pattern the Stokeshire framework reads as the active companion profile. He came readily with his tail up, followed with his tail up, and cuddled in when stroked. He is forward, social, and easy to engage.

He went to investigate the sound, the moving towel, and the umbrella, each time with curiosity rather than alarm. He settled during restraint with some eye contact and relaxed when lifted. The through-line is a puppy who meets the world with interest and recovers on his own.

Motivation reads moderate to high. He chased the tossed object and returned to the handler without it, which is willing but not yet a retriever. With moderate energy and a brown coat marked by a white chest, he fits the widest range of homes in this litter and is the most straightforward match.

Forward and SocialCame readily, followed readily, and cuddled in; tail up throughout
Curious with NoveltyInvestigated the sound, the moving object, and the umbrella rather than avoiding them
Self-RecoveringSettled during restraint and elevation with brief, uncomplicated recovery
Balanced EnergyEngaged when stimulated, rests readily between sessions

Ideal Home for Castor

Castor's consistent, curious profile makes him a versatile match. He is likely to do well wherever he gets regular interaction, moderate activity, and structured training that channels his willingness.

Active families who want a dog to be part of daily life
Households with children, given his forward sociability and quick recovery
First-time owners who want a cooperative, trainable puppy
Families interested in a therapy-prospect pathway, where curiosity and human orientation are the foundation traits
06

Coat & Size

Coat TypeFurnished, the dam carries two furnishing copies, so every puppy in this litter has the furnished doodle face and coat. Texture is expected to range from wavy to straighter across the litter; Castor's adult texture is confirmed as the coat comes in.
SheddingLower-shedding tendency. Both parents carry the reduced-shedding variant, so every puppy inherits at least one copy. No coat is completely non-shedding. Families with significant allergies should discuss coat type before selecting.
GroomingFurnished coats require regular brushing and professional grooming every 6 to 8 weeks to prevent matting and maintain coat health.
ColorBrown with White Chest. Brown (chocolate) pigment requires two copies of the recessive b allele; both parents carry one, so roughly a quarter of the litter was expected to be brown. The white chest patch comes from the piebald allele carried by the dam. Color may deepen or soften as the adult coat comes in.
Estimated Adult Size60–85 lbs, the Standard range for this pairing. Dam is ~63 lbs; sire is ~73 lbs. Individual variation is expected.

Assessment Disclaimer

Temperament scores are based on the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test conducted at approximately 7 weeks of age. Scores reflect the puppy's first natural response and are intended to inform family matching. They are not guarantees of future behavior, trainability, or disposition.

Each puppy is an individual shaped by genetics, environment, and training. Stokeshire Designer Doodles does not guarantee temperament, adult size or weight, coat characteristics, or lower-allergen properties. Coat outcomes may shift with age, grooming practices, and seasonal cycles. Furnishing and coat genotypes stated above are inferred from the parents' DNA results and are confirmed by individual DNA at go-home.

Families are encouraged to invest in ongoing positive-reinforcement training, socialization, and veterinary care to support their puppy's development. By selecting a Stokeshire puppy, you acknowledge and accept these terms.
