Breeder’s Choice (Premium Hold-Backs)

These are the puppies we would normally keep for our own program. Breeder’s Choice puppies represent the top tier of each litter—standouts in structure, temperament, and coat. On occasion, when our program needs shift or we have multiple keepers, we release select Breeder’s Choice puppies back to our waitlist at a premium price.

These placements are ideal for discerning breeding programs and families who want the best of the best from Stokeshire.

Breeder’s Choice Overview Details
What “Breeder’s Choice” Means Puppies identified as top candidates for our own future breeding and program goals—exceptional conformation, stable, people-focused temperaments, and highly desirable coats and markings.
Who This Tier Is For
  • Ethical breeders seeking premium foundation dogs
  • Families who want the standout puppy from a litter
  • Those prioritizing predictable structure, temperament, and coat quality
How Puppies Are Selected We evaluate each litter for structure, movement, temperament, coat type, color, and overall balance. Only a small percentage of puppies receive the Breeder’s Choice designation.
Pricing Breeder’s Choice puppies are offered at a premium price that reflects their quality and the additional evaluation and long-term value they represent for breeding programs and families. Exact pricing varies by breed, size, coat, color, and projected potential.
Availability Breeder’s Choice puppies are not guaranteed in every litter. They are typically reserved as hold-backs, but may be made available when:
  • We have more than one suitable hold-back in a litter
  • Our breeding plans shift or are already fulfilled
  • A perfect match appears on our waitlist
When available, these puppies are first offered to families and breeders already on our approved list.
How to Be Considered Indicate your interest in a Breeder’s Choice puppy on your application or during your consult. We’ll review temperament goals, lifestyle, and any breeding-program needs to determine if this tier is a good fit.

Pricing Disclaimer

At Stokeshire, we’re committed to exceptional, ethically bred puppies and thoughtful family matches. Our pricing reflects the quality, care, and dedicated time invested in each litter.

Prices may change without prior notice. Final pricing for each puppy may vary based on:
  • Breed, size, gender, and coat type
  • Color, markings, and eye color
  • Furnishings (furnished vs. unfurnished)
  • Current market demand and rarity
Singleton Puppies: Singleton Puppies In the rare event that a litter welcomes a single puppy, that little one receives an extraordinary level of individualized care from the very beginning. A singleton is supported through hands-on, concierge-style developmental work — intentional touch therapies, structured sensory exposure, and continuous human interaction that help us engineer predictable, therapy-grade temperaments from day one. Because prenatal care, veterinary oversight, training hours, and resource investment remain the same regardless of litter size, singleton puppies may reflect a higher base price. This adjustment simply honors the heightened early investment, the intensive Stokeshire Method™ shaping, and the deeply personalized attention that singletons naturally receive during their foundational weeks.
