Canada, Mexico, Europe, and beyond

The same in-cabin escort, with the country-specific paperwork handled: USDA endorsement, rabies timing, an ISO microchip where the destination requires one, and entry rules. Where a country requires pets to arrive as cargo, a USDA-licensed pet shipper handles that leg. See delivery by destination.

In cabin · at go-home age

Canada

Canadian families can bring a Stokeshire puppy home at the usual go-home age. A puppy bought for your own household enters Canada as a personal pet, and it flies in the cabin with you or with a Stokeshire handler.

  • Travelling with you: proof of age under three months; a rabies vaccination certificate from three months.
  • Travelling with a Stokeshire handler: add a veterinary health certificate issued within 72 hours of arrival in Canada, for puppies under eight months.
  • Microchip: not required for a personal pet.

Read the full guide: Bringing a Stokeshire Puppy Home to Canada.

Does my puppy need to be six months old to enter Canada?
No. The six-month minimum is a U.S. CDC rule for dogs entering the United States. A personal pet puppy can enter Canada at the usual go-home age with the paperwork for its age and route.
Is buying a Stokeshire puppy a commercial import into Canada?
No, when the puppy is for your own household. CFIA treats puppies imported for resale, adoption, fostering, or breeding as commercial. A puppy bought to live with your family is a personal pet.
What changes if a Stokeshire handler flies my puppy to Canada?
Your puppy travels unaccompanied in Canada's terms, so a puppy under eight months needs a veterinary health certificate issued within 72 hours of arrival. We schedule the exam around the flight.
In cabin · at go-home age

Mexico

Mexico accepts puppies from the United States at the usual go-home age, in the cabin, with an inspection on arrival.

  • Screwworm certificate: a New World screwworm inspection certificate signed by a USDA-accredited veterinarian no more than five days before entry, required since August 3, 2026.
  • On arrival: a SENASICA inspection. The carrier must be clean, with no bedding, toys, or food inside.
  • Microchip: not required.
What paperwork does a Stokeshire puppy need to enter Mexico?
A screwworm inspection certificate signed by a USDA-accredited veterinarian no more than five days before entry, then a SENASICA inspection on arrival. We time the exam to the flight.
Can a Stokeshire handler fly my puppy to Mexico in the cabin?
Yes. Our handler flies with your puppy in the cabin, presents your puppy for the SENASICA inspection, and hands the puppy to you at the arrival airport.
In cabin · domestic route

Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is a domestic route, so a Stokeshire handler flies with your puppy in the cabin with no customs crossing, on the domestic flight nanny service.

  • Health certificate: issued by a USDA-accredited veterinarian.
  • Rabies: requirements are set by the Puerto Rico Department of Agriculture and depend on your puppy's age.
  • Before booking: we confirm the current requirements, including any microchip requirement.
Is Puerto Rico a domestic or international route?
Domestic. Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, so your puppy flies in the cabin on the domestic flight nanny service, with a health certificate and the Puerto Rico Department of Agriculture's entry requirements.
Does my puppy need a rabies vaccine to travel to Puerto Rico?
It depends on your puppy's age at travel. We confirm the Puerto Rico Department of Agriculture's current requirements for your puppy's age and plan the timing before we book.
In cabin · from about 15 weeks

Europe

Our handlers can fly a puppy in the cabin to Europe once the puppy is old enough for the European Union's rabies rules and still within the airline's cabin weight limit. Until then, your puppy keeps training with us in Bootcamp.

  • Age: about 15 weeks at the earliest. The rabies vaccination is given at 12 weeks or older, followed by a 21-day wait.
  • Microchip: an ISO microchip placed before the rabies vaccination. Europe requires it, so for these placements we place it and register it to you.
  • Health certificate: an EU health certificate completed by a USDA-accredited veterinarian and endorsed by USDA, within 10 days of arrival.
  • Cabin limit: on Air France, 8 kg (about 17.6 lb) for puppy and carrier combined, which generally suits Toy, Petite, and Mini puppies at this age.
  • Your travel dates: EU pet rules expect the owner to travel within five days of the pet, so we plan your dates with ours.
How old must a puppy be to fly to Europe?
At least about 15 weeks. The European Union requires a rabies vaccination given at 12 weeks or older, after an ISO microchip, followed by a 21-day wait before entry.
Will my puppy fit in the cabin on a flight to Europe?
It depends on size at about 15 weeks. Air France allows 8 kg (about 17.6 lb) for pet and carrier combined, which generally suits Toy, Petite, and Mini puppies. Larger puppies are quoted individually.
What does my puppy do between go-home age and the travel date?
Your puppy continues training in Stokeshire Bootcamp until the travel date, so your puppy arrives older and further along in training.
Licensed pet shipper · older, trained dog

United Kingdom

The United Kingdom does not allow pet dogs to arrive in an airplane cabin, so our in-cabin flight nanny cannot fly a puppy into Britain directly. UK placements are planned around an older, trained dog.

  • Arrival: pets arriving in Great Britain by air travel as manifest cargo; assistance dogs are the only exception.
  • Import rules: a puppy bought abroad enters Great Britain under commercial import rules, whatever the route. Flying to France in the cabin and driving across does not change that.
  • Age: the current minimum is 15 weeks. A UK law passed in December 2025 requires the first regulations under it to raise the minimum to six months.
  • Our path: Bootcamp until your dog meets the age and paperwork rules, then a USDA-licensed pet shipper for the leg into Britain. Stokeshire prepares the dog and the documents; our flight nannies fly in the cabin only.
Can a Stokeshire handler fly my puppy to the UK in the cabin?
No. Great Britain requires pets arriving by air to travel as manifest cargo, and only assistance dogs may arrive in the cabin. Our flight nannies fly in the cabin only, so UK placements use a USDA-licensed pet shipper for that leg.
Can my puppy fly to France in the cabin and then travel to the UK by road?
Not as a way around the rules. A puppy bought abroad enters Great Britain under commercial import rules whatever the route, and the European Union adds its own age and paperwork requirements.
How old must a dog be to enter the UK?
At least 15 weeks under current rules. A UK law passed in December 2025 requires the first regulations under it to raise the minimum to six months, so we plan UK placements around an older, trained dog.
Licensed pet shipper · older, trained dog

Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the UAE

These destinations protect their rabies status with import permits, rabies blood tests, waiting periods, quarantine, or cargo-only arrival. They suit an older, trained Stokeshire dog rather than a young puppy.

  • Australia and New Zealand: an import permit, a rabies antibody test with a waiting period, government-approved quarantine, and arrival as manifest cargo.
  • Singapore: a dog licence before the import licence, rabies vaccination and a blood test, and quarantine.
  • Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates: arrival as manifest cargo.
  • Our path: Bootcamp until your dog qualifies, the veterinary steps on the destination's timeline, then a USDA-licensed pet shipper for the cargo leg. Quoted individually.
  • Bali: not available. Dogs cannot be imported directly into Bali.
Can Stokeshire deliver a dog to Australia or New Zealand?
Yes, as an older, trained dog. Both countries require an import permit, a rabies antibody test with a waiting period, approved quarantine, and arrival as manifest cargo, so we plan the dog's training and paperwork around their timeline and work with a USDA-licensed pet shipper.
Why does an overseas placement take longer?
Rabies-free countries require vaccination, a blood test, and waiting periods before entry. Those steps set the earliest travel date, and Bootcamp turns that time into training.
Can Stokeshire deliver a puppy to Bali?
No. Dogs cannot be imported directly into Bali, so Stokeshire does not place puppies there.

02

Paperwork

Questions families ask

Transport, answered directly.

Does Stokeshire handle breeding, training, and transport itself?
Yes. Stokeshire Designer Doodles breeds and raises the puppies, runs Doodle School through its own trainers, and delivers through Midwest Pet Transport, its own transport service. One family is responsible from the pairing to the handoff.
Where can a Stokeshire puppy be delivered?
Ground delivery covers families within 500 miles of Medford, Wisconsin. In-cabin flight nanny service covers the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico at go-home age, and Europe once a puppy meets the European Union's age rules and the airline's cabin limit. The United Kingdom and overseas destinations that require cargo arrival are served with an older, trained dog and a USDA-licensed pet shipper, quoted individually. Stokeshire puppies currently live in thirty-six states, Washington, D.C., Canada, and Mexico.
Who travels with my puppy?
A Stokeshire family member or Stokeshire-approved handler. The puppy travels in the airplane cabin, never as cargo, in an airline-approved carrier, and is handed to you at the destination airport. Puppies too large for the in-cabin limit travel by ground delivery or a custom hand-delivery route, quoted individually. Where a country requires pets to arrive as cargo, a USDA-licensed pet shipper handles that leg. Once a trip is booked, your handler's name and contact come with the itinerary.
What does transport cost?
Ground delivery is $1 per mile round trip from Medford, rounded up to the nearest ten, with a $250 deposit. Domestic flight nanny, including Puerto Rico, is a $500 nanny fee plus airfare at cost, from about $1,550 plus tax in total; run the estimator for your route. International flight nanny to Canada and Mexico is an $800 nanny fee plus airfare and destination fees, from about $2,200 plus tax; Europe, the United Kingdom, and other countries are quoted by route. Every trip that crosses state lines includes the $295 Travel-Ready Health Certificate Package.
Can my puppy finish Doodle School and then fly home?
Yes. Transport is confirmed with your puppy at Match Day and scheduled for graduation day, so a Doodle School puppy goes from the trainer's home to your airport in one planned trip.
What paperwork travels with the puppy?
A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection signed by our veterinarian within ten days of travel, vaccination records, and the go-home folder. International routes add the destination country's requirements, such as USDA endorsement, rabies timing, and an ISO microchip where the destination requires one; we send a compliance checklist once the route is confirmed.
