A pet flight nanny is a professional service that helps pet owners transport their animals safely and comfortably when traveling by air. Pet flight nannies typically work with airlines and other travel organizations to arrange transportation for pets, and they may also provide care and supervision for the animals during the flight. This can include making sure the pets have food and water, providing comfort and companionship, and ensuring that the pets are safe and secure during the flight. Some pet flight nannies may also offer additional services such as pet grooming or training. If you are planning to travel with your pet and are looking for a pet flight nanny, it is important to do your research and choose a reputable and experienced professional to ensure the safety and well-being of your animal.

Puppy Hand-Delivery — U.S. Lower 48, Hawaii & Puerto Rico

At Stokeshire Designer Doodles, we offer professional puppy hand-delivery within the United States, including the Lower 48 states, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Our experienced flight nannies personally escort your puppy, ensuring a safe, calm journey to your home or nearest major airport.

Service Overview

Hand-delivery within the Lower 48 begins at $500 (cost may vary by location) plus the actual airfare & airline pet-in-cabin fee. For most domestic destinations, **total transportation & insurance** average $1,300 – $1,900 + tax (subject to change depending on airline pricing and routing).

Hawaii and Puerto Rico may require additional documentation or routing fees (e.g., import permits, rabies compliance, or extended flight itineraries). We’ll provide an estimate once we review your destination’s requirements.

Puppies under 20 lbs usually travel in-cabin with a flight nanny as a carry-on passenger. This includes: veterinary health certificate (CVI), airline-approved soft carrier, booked flight, and transportation to the departure airport.

You may also choose to fly in personally and take your puppy home as a carry-on. We’ll gladly meet you at no cost at CWA Central Wisconsin Airport.

Puppies over 20 lbs may need to travel via cargo on pet-safe routes from Chicago O’Hare (ORD) or Minneapolis–St. Paul (MSP). We handle all logistics, but recommend flexibility as weather and airline rules can affect scheduling.

The Process

  1. Booking Confirmation: Request your hand-delivery with preferred dates and routes. Our Transport Team will email you (Transport@wisconsindesignerdoodles.com) to confirm flight options and availability.
  2. Flight Preferences: We aim to book the safest, most direct routes possible — usually departing from CWA, MSP, or ORD.
  3. Confirmation & Invoice: After you approve the flight plan, we book the ticket and send an invoice covering airfare, pet-in-cabin fees, carriers, and any extra documentation. Payment is due upon receipt.
  4. Calendar Invitation: You’ll receive a calendar invite with flight details, the nanny’s contact info, and emergency numbers.
  5. Pre-Flight Check-In: Contact the assigned nanny the evening before travel to confirm logistics.
  6. Arrival & Pickup: Meet your puppy at the baggage claim area listed in your calendar invite.
  7. Flight Updates: Subscribe to the airline’s alerts or app for real-time updates; your nanny will also communicate any changes directly.

Preparing for Pickup

  • Carrier/Crate: Airline-approved soft crate large enough for the puppy to stand, lie down, and turn comfortably.

  • Puppy Pads & Towels: Your puppy pack includes pads to keep the crate clean and comfortable.
