Our mission

At Stokeshire Designer Doodles, our mission is clear: to breed exceptional companion and therapy-grade dogs that surpass expectations in health, temperament, and intelligence. Rooted in a deliberate selection of pedigrees, we prioritize the well-being and unique qualities of each puppy. Through intentional breeding, genetic testing, early neurological stimulation & curriculum, we aim to create dogs with a longer, healthier purpose-driven life, ensuring a lifetime of joy and adventure for both pet and owner.

Currently, we're working with five distinct breeds: Golden Retrievers, Poodles, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Australian Shepherds, & Old English Sheepdogs in their various sizes, to produce well-suited companions and therapy-grade dogs that not only look and feel remarkable but are healthier and happier and more intelligent than their progenitors.

We have hand-selected these pedigrees for our breeding program to help achieve our goal of delivering a premium quality puppy that has been well cared for, trained, and handled before going to their forever homes.

We breed for health, temperament, beauty, and trainability.  Our puppies are hand-raised inside our home and studio where they have an abundance of love, attention and interaction. We use The Ultimate Badass Breeder’s Guide methods for early neurological stimulation. 

While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, we believe that our designer doodles will exceed your expectations not only in overall character and build, but also in their genetic superiority. We choose to select champion and therapy/service bloodlines, even though we're not breeding purebreds exclusively, genetics matters. While we want to continue to improve our foundational breeds, we hold fast to the theory of heterosis; whereby crossbreeding produces superior qualities and lower COIs, thereby improving the overall health of your dog. With intentional breeding and genetic testing, we reduce the risk of defects resulting in a longer lifespan with fewer vet visits and an overall more enjoyable life for both you and your pet.

In the years that follow, it is our mission to produce our proprietary breed: the Stokeshire. We dream that it will become an All-American Mutt, like us, an admixture of several current breeds, selected for a bright future, designed for the modern home, facility, campus, school, or Search and Rescue Team. Additionally, we plan on breeding Australian Mountain Doodles and Golden Mountain Doodles in the next few years.

Our hope is their trainability, coat characteristics, intelligence, and temperament will result in heartwarming and head-turning companions for fun-filled years to come. For those who are selected for service and therapy, we dream that people’s lives will be transformed and dogs in schools and places of learning will be an expectation, not an exception. Furthermore, we want our pups to live a purpose-driven life filled with happiness and adventure, doing what we believe God designed them to do serving in a wide variety of vocations and relationships with their loving and dedicated partners.

These are lifelong commitments that we’re very passionate about. We realize that just about anyone can whelp puppies, however, for us, Stokeshire is more than a business or part of our livelihood, it is a fun childhood dream that started many years ago when our farm cats would deliver their litters on our laps. From then on, we were hooked. Our pets changed us - how will yours change you for the better?

• At Stokeshire we plan litters with a goal, focus, and mission. We look to meet the demand of our waitlist.

• We breed for health, temperament, and structure-tested parents. We work with EmbarkVet on each pairing to help ensure healthy puppies.

• Parent Care - With the help of our guardian homes, we honor and respect your dams and sires at all times to keep them healthy and happy. Provide a safe, enriching environment with high-quality vet care, living quarters, food, etc.  

• Puppy Curriculum - We provide a structured curriculum to ensure that puppies learn the world is safe, people are kind, and dogs are friendly.

• Puppy Development - Guide, shape, and mold puppies based upon critical learning periods, constantly evaluating and adjusting, to strengthen confidence, nerve strength, and startling recovery. We empower pups to be the best they can be. We do not enable them.  

• Puppy Evaluations - Evaluate puppies and provide information on all puppies to our clients to ensure the best match is made.

• Lifetime Responsibility -We take 100% responsibility for every puppy we produce for the entirety of its life and provide a three-year contract. 

• Client Community - We educate your clients, both new and old, and build a  cohesive, active community.

• Love - We love your dog and our puppies, we love your clients. This is a multifamily labor of love and we’re honored to serve for the greater good of our mission.

Selecting our Breeding Team

• We look for puppies that maintain good eye contact.

• Are motivated to work and please.

• Are highly trainable.

• Accept handling from strangers.

• Exhibits self-control and focus.

• Have solid nerve strength.

• Are confident and calm and recovery quickly when startled.

• We look for affectionate dogs who are not aggressive, shy, overly submissive, or exhibit anxious behaviors.
