Meet The Stokes

We are James, Katie, and the Stokes family, a Wisconsin family rooted in purpose, faith, and a deep love for exceptional dogs. What began as a passion for pairing the right dog with the right family has grown into a therapy-informed doodle program trusted by families, clinicians, and educators across North America.

Every puppy that leaves Stokeshire carries the imprint of our home. Raised alongside our children, shaped by structure, and sent into the world with confidence. This is not a kennel. It is a calling.

Every decision we make, from pairing to placement, is guided by data, experience, and a genuine love for extraordinary dogs and the families who deserve them.

Explore the Method

Ethical Genetic Pairing

Low COI breeding, 200+ condition DNA panels, champion bloodlines, and third-party laboratory testing on every parent. We evaluate known genetic findings and avoid pairings expected to materially increase preventable inherited-disease risk.

Therapy-Informed Development

Our program standard is 50+ hours of early development from birth through eight weeks, including early neurological stimulation, structured socialization, and Stokeshire Puppy Aptitude Testing. Four-week Doodle School graduates reach a 135+ hour combined development standard. Per-dog records are documented in the Stokeshire Companion app.

Home-Raised Environment

Every puppy is raised in our family home alongside children, sounds, textures, and routine, building calm confidence from day one.

App-Based Progress Updates

Follow your puppy's milestones, training sessions, and personality notes in real time through our proprietary Stokeshire app.

Full FAQ
We specialize in Australian Mountain Doodles, Golden Mountain Doodles, and Bernedoodles, with occasional Aussiedoodle, Goldendoodle, and Australian Mountain Dog litters. Each pairing is selected for health, temperament, and low-to-non-shedding coats, backed by DNA testing and low COI analysis. Furnished and unfurnished coat varieties are available and clearly identified in every litter.
Therapy-grade describes our development standard, not a certification. Our therapy-informed trainers raise every puppy through the Stokeshire Method, which includes 50+ hours of early socialization from birth through eight weeks, early neurological stimulation, and Stokeshire Puppy Aptitude Testing. A small percentage of puppies in each program earn the therapy-grade designation after temperament evaluation, and those puppies tend to be well suited for therapy, service prospect, or emotionally attuned companion roles. We breed and develop therapy candidates; we do not certify therapy dogs, and certification outcomes depend on continued training with the family and a certifying organization.
No dog is truly hypoallergenic, and we do not make allergy guarantees. Allergens come from dander, saliva, and urine rather than hair alone, so reactions vary from person to person. Low-shedding is not the same as hypoallergenic. What we can do is select intentionally for coat traits: furnished puppies carry the furnishings gene associated with the classic doodle coat and tend to shed less, while unfurnished puppies do not carry that gene and shed more. We evaluate shedding traits genetically. We do not predict individual human allergen response. If allergies are a factor in your decision, our two-minute Allergy Quiz can help you understand which coat types may fit your household, and we recommend spending time with adult dogs of a similar coat type before committing.

Our puppies start at $4,000, with final pricing based on size, coat, and pairing. Doodle School and Bootcamp training packages are available as add-ons, and current pricing is published on our pricing page. A limited Red Fern Scholarship program exists for eligible therapy, service, and community placements. Pricing reflects health testing, early development hours, and lifetime breeder support rather than the puppy alone.

Puppies go home at 8 weeks old. If enrolled in Doodle School, they remain with our trainers for an additional 2 to 4 weeks of focused development before joining your family. Pickup is available in Wisconsin, or we can arrange hand-delivery across the U.S. and to select international destinations.
A $500 litter-specific deposit secures a numbered waitlist position and is applied toward your puppy purchase. Deposits are 90% refundable before breeding is confirmed and become non-refundable after breeding is confirmed. If your preferred match is not available, transfer options are governed by the written purchase agreement. Full terms are provided before payment.
Yes. We arrange hand-delivery across the U.S. through trusted flight nannies and Stokeshire team members, with select international routes available by inquiry. Required veterinary, airline, USDA, and import documentation varies by destination and is planned for the confirmed route, and every shipment travels with a certificate of veterinary inspection.
