What Our Families Say
From first-time puppy parents to seasoned dog owners, therapy professionals to active families—hear directly from the people who chose Stokeshire.
In Their Own Words
Extended accounts from Stokeshire families—how their dogs have settled into real life.
Thank you for the handwritten note and your thoughtful words. True to your June 25, 2025, assessment, Mika's personality shines exactly as you predicted: steady and engaged, responsive to people, and adaptable.
Mika is loving life in Napa and has settled beautifully into his feeding and potty routines. He's sleeping soundly from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.—even if I get up during the night—and during the day we take him to his backyard "Potty Place" about every 90 minutes to prevent accidents.
For socialization, we've been walking downtown Napa, Yountville, and the Sonoma Plaza. While strolling or dining outdoors, Mika routinely attracts crowds—well over 100 people so far—thanks to his unique look, markings, and warm temperament. He has greeted everyone with enthusiasm. Yesterday in Sonoma, two professional photographers stopped us, took photos, and jokingly asked whether we had a license for his cuteness.
When people ask where we found Mika, we gladly share your names and the link to Stokeshire Designer Doodles. If someone seems genuinely interested, we enthusiastically recommend them to you and offer to connect them.
He is exactly what you projected: smart, trainable, and emotionally balanced—equally happy to play and to rest.
Our mini-Bernedoodle is a fabulous, now 2 year old, pup. He is very affectionate. Does spins and brings his favorite little ball to the door when his human friends come over, wagging from nose to tail. He gets along with other dogs too.
He plays his own version of hide and seek—pulling his blanket over toys, then snuffling and tossing until he finds it. He has a good base of obedience classes which we've supplemented with some agility training. He likes treats! Hence enjoys training very much.
We've taken him into the Boundary Waters—canoe camping. First we had to help him make friends with the life jacket (not a swimmer), and by the end of the trip any time anyone went near a paddle or canoe he went for his life jacket. He loved sleeping in the tent. We also have convinced him that booties are nice when it's below zero.
A very sweet fellow, and we still plan to try to become a therapy team—but probably won't start on that specific training until he's 3. I should be sure to add that he has topped out at 25 lbs. Perfect size for us.
Great experience adopting Aussiedoodle Lilly and Bernedoodle Leo—healthy, trained, and clearly loved. We're so happy we've already placed a deposit for another pup!

“Hi James, Hi Katie,

Thank you for helping bring Mika into our lives. He is exactly what you projected: smart, trainable, and emotionally balanced—equally happy to play and to rest. He’s flourishing with daily walks, simple obedience sessions, and meeting lots of new people (and a few canine friends).
With appreciation,
