Tier II · Before Go-Home Day

Documentation &
health admin.

These steps don't need to happen today, but they should be completed before your go-home date. None of them are difficult — they're listed here so nothing gets forgotten.

04
Review Your Health Guarantee

Your puppy comes with a 3-Year Health & Wellness Guarantee covering undisclosed, life-threatening congenital conditions. Please read it before go-home so you understand what's covered, what isn't, and what the 72-hour vet visit requirement means for your coverage. Save a copy for your records.

05
Download the CVI (Health Certificate)

Your puppy's Certificate of Veterinary Inspection will be posted to the litter document page before go-home. This document is required for interstate travel and airline transport. If you're traveling by air, confirm your airline's specific requirements — CVI rules vary by carrier.

06
Schedule Your 72-Hour Vet Visit

Your health guarantee requires a wellness exam with a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of go-home. Schedule this now — before go-home day — so the appointment is already on the books. This is not optional if you intend to activate your health guarantee coverage.

07

Nutrition — What We Currently Feed

Your puppy is currently eating Diamond Naturals Puppy. Starting with the same food prevents digestive upset during the transition home. If you plan to switch foods, do so gradually over 7–10 days after your puppy is settled.

Optional · Immune Support
NuVet Plus Supplement

Some families choose NuVet Plus to support immune health during the transition period. It's optional — not required — but we've seen it help with coat, energy, and settling in the first weeks. Order in advance so it's ready when your puppy arrives.

Common Questions

What families
ask first.

Answers to the questions we hear most in the first 48 hours after selection. If something isn't covered here, reach out directly — we respond quickly during the reservation window.

Health & Vaccinations
Your puppy received DHLPP vaccinations at 6 and 12 weeks of age administered by Stokeshire. Their 16-week booster and rabies vaccine are your responsibility — your vet will schedule these at the 72-hour wellness exam. Dewormings are administered at 2, 4, 6, 8, and 12 weeks. Full vaccination and health records are included in your litter documents.
Puppies not enrolled in Doodle School or VIP Early Start have had general litter socialization but have not begun formal crate training. If you've enrolled in Doodle School, crate acclimation begins as part of the structured program before your puppy comes home. If you're training independently, have a crate set up and introduce it the first night — don't wait.
Young puppies develop bladder control gradually. Formal potty training begins with consistent structure at home — or through Doodle School if enrolled. Download our Potty Training Guide for a day-by-day approach during the first two weeks. Consistency in the first few days matters enormously.
4-Week Doodle School begins at 8 weeks of age and runs for 28 days. Your puppy goes home at approximately 12 weeks — trained, on a routine, and with a full transition guide. We'll confirm your puppy's exact start date once enrollment is finalized at checkout.
Nutrition & Transition
Your puppy is currently eating Diamond Naturals Puppy. We strongly recommend starting with this food to avoid digestive upset during an already stressful adjustment period. If you want to switch brands, wait until your puppy is settled (typically 1–2 weeks) and transition gradually over 7–10 days.
Small, high-value treats are an important training tool but should be introduced thoughtfully. In the first days, focus on bonding and routine over active training sessions. Use kibble as your baseline reward — save higher-value treats for structured training moments. Avoid rich treats during the first week to protect digestion.
NuVet Plus is an optional immune support supplement some families use during the transition period. It's not required, and a good quality puppy food is your foundation. Ask your vet at the 72-hour wellness exam what they recommend for your puppy's specific needs.
Contact us. Text or email is best — we check both daily. We provide 30-day complimentary post-placement support to all Stokeshire families. If you enrolled in Doodle School, your trainer follows up weekly with notes on progress. For anything health-related, contact your vet first and then loop us in.
We're here through all of it
