Primary Goals
House Training
Eliminate all indoor accidents.
Teach Oakley to ask to go outside (stand by door or signal).
Reinforce regular potty schedule — goal: eliminate within 15 minutes of going outside.
Basic Obedience
Reliable response to Sit, Down, Heel, Place, and Come.
Emphasis on consistency, calmness, and focus during commands.
Leash Manners
Walk politely beside handler with a loose leash.
No pulling, forging ahead, or lagging behind.
Household Manners
No chewing on furniture, cords, or shoes — redirect to chew toys.
No counter-surfing or jumping on beds.
Comfortable and calm while relaxing on the couch beside handler.
Greeting & Socialization
Greet people at the door calmly — no jumping or pawing.
Maintain good social behavior with other dogs (positive, balanced interactions).
Environmental Confidence
Practice walking up and down two flights of stairs confidently and safely.
Continue exposure to home environments, sounds, and new settings to strengthen adaptability.
Behavioral Reinforcement
Focus on impulse control (wait before doorways, calm greetings).
Reinforce positive chewing behavior, crate time, and independence training.
Maintain relaxed demeanor in the home (especially evenings with owner).
Lifestyle Conditioning
Practice “settle” routines for quiet downtime with owner (TV, reading, writing).
Encourage confidence and bonding behaviors that reflect Oakley’s calm, affectionate nature.
