Are Australian Mountain Doodles hypoallergenic?

Compared to other breeds, Australian Mountain Doodles shed less because they are considered a hybrid. Their coat, which could either be straight, wavy, or curly, is not harmful to its pet owner. Thanks to its genetic makeup from its Poodle genes, Australian Mountain Doodles are hypoallergenic. Which means that it is less possible for them to trigger an allergic reaction. Remember though that this low probability does not mean that they won’t trigger any reaction at all.

There may be some isolated cases where a person’s allergic reaction is triggered by even the slightest amount of coat contact. That is why it is still advisable to take some precautions when brushing or petting a dog, especially if you have known allergies. Unknown to many, the allergic reaction is not necessarily triggered by the dog’s coat, in some cases, it could be from licking the person during playtime. A dog’s saliva contains proteins that can be found on the dog’s flakes or dander. In some cases, contact with the dog’s dander causes an allergic reaction.
