How to get the best Results from your Stokeshire Presets

Instructions for desktop

First of all, it is a good idea to establish which Lightroom version you’re running. There are a few out there and it’s an idea to check your version number to. 

Currently, there are two versions available:
Lightroom CC or Photoshop Lightroom (XMP)
Lightroom CC Classic or Photoshop Lightroom Classic (XMP)

Older versions are:
Lightroom 4-5-6 & CC 2017 (.lrtemplate files)

Also:
Lightroom Mobile App (DNG) or (sync)

Before we get started, if you have the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Subscription (including Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic CC). We recommend updating to the latest version as this will allow an easier Lightroom Preset install. 


Installing Presets & Profiles on Lightroom CC Classic (.XMP)

PC:

Method 1.
Go to FILE – IMPORT DEVELOP PROFILES AND PRESETS (import as a zip file)
RESTART LIGHTROOM

Method 2.
1. In the PRESETS tab look for the + icon.  Click on IMPORT PRESETS.  (make sure you have images loaded for this to work).
2. Navigate to your PRESETS Zip file and click import.

You can import .XMP only and not .lrtemplate using this method!  Please refer to Pre 7.3 Method below if you’re installing .lrtemplate version.

MAC:

Install Lightroom Classic CC 7.5 beyond (.XMP)
Go to the DEVELOP module

Method 1.

Go to FILE – IMPORT DEVELOP PROFILES AND PRESETS (import as a zip file)

Method 2. (preferred)

1. In the PRESETS tab look for the + icon.  Click on IMPORT PRESETS.  (make sure you have images loaded for this to work).
2. Navigate to your PRESETS Zip file and click import.

You can import .XMP only and not .lrtemplate using this method!  Please refer to Pre 7.3 Method below if you’re installing .lrtemplate version.


Installing Presets & Profiles on Lightroom CC Desktop (.XMP) 

This version is called Photoshop Lightroom Desktop, Photoshop Lightroom, or just Lightroom CC.  Basically, the Creative Cloud version can sync with the free version of Lightroom mobile.  Make sense? Hope so. Fairly easy to install presets and profiles on this version.

1. Make sure you have downloaded the Xplor Presets & Profiles (zip file).
2. Open up Lightroom CC Desktop and click on an image.
3. Go to FILE - IMPORT PROFILES AND PRESETS.
4. Now find the Xplor Presets and Profiles Zip file you have previously downloaded.
5. Click Import

Job Done!
 

Installing presets, Lightroom 4, 5, 6 and Lightroom Classic  (.lrtemplate)

1. First you need to find the develop presets folder, go to LIGHTROOM – PREFERENCES (MAC) or EDIT– PREFERENCES (PC).
2. Find the PRESETS tab and click on SHOW LIGHTROOM PRESETS FOLDER.  Then click on   LIGHTROOM – DEVELOP PRESETS.
3. Drag your unzipped folder into the DEVELOP PRESETS folder.  Make sure you keep the folders separate and organized.
4. RESTART Lightroom
5. Go into the DEVELOP module, the presets will be in the PRESETS folder on the left.

Installing Lightroom Adjustment Tools PC & MAC

1. First you need to find the develop presets folder, go to LIGHTROOM – PREFERENCES (MAC) or EDIT – PREFERENCES (PC).
2. Find the PRESETS tab and click on SHOW ALL OTHER LIGHTROOM PRESETS FOLDER.  Then click on LIGHTROOM – LOCAL ADJUSTMENT PRESETS.

Installing Lightroom CC Mobile Presets (DNG Files)

01. Please download Stokeshire Presets as instructed from email and or link.  Keep the zip folder safe on your desktop (make a copy for your safekeeping).
02. Then extract the zip folder and upload the file to Google Drive, Dropbox, or another suitable cloud-based system.
03. Open the corresponding app on your mobile and locate the file you’ve uploaded. Open it.
04. You will see all the DNG files, all named and with appropriate labeling.
05. Please save each file to your camera roll (Don’t be confused by blank images if this is the case).
06. Open the Lightroom Mobile App and select the folder All Photos.
07. Click import Icon in the lower right of your screen.
08. You will see the DNG files.
09. Click on the three dots icon top right and click select.
10. Select all the DNG Presets and click on Add Photos.
11. Your DNG Presets will now show up, including your name and number.
12. Select each DNG preset and each time selects the three dots upper right and click on Create Preset.
13. Select all the settings you want to copy, we suggest leaving Tools, Optics, and Geometry.
14. Now save Preset, named as you like, and we suggest using our names for each Preset.
15. Create a new Preset Group.
16. Click the checkmark icon upper right corner to save.
17. Preset is now ready to be used as you wish.
18. Repeat for the other Presets
