Understanding Food Sensitivities and Allergies in Doodles and Poodles
Understanding Food Sensitivities and Allergies in Doodles and Poodles

Stokeshire, renowned for its affectionate Doodles and Poodles, has seen a 12.5% rise in food allergies and a 30.7% increase in environmental allergies in the past decade among these breeds. Symptoms of food allergies include vomiting, diarrhea, skin issues, and behavioral changes, often appearing by 6 months of age. Environmental allergies, or atopy, typically manifest between 1 and 3 years and can stem from food allergies. Doodles and Poodles aren't inherently more prone to food allergies, but genetics play a role. Diagnosing these allergies involves an elimination diet. Treatment may include corticosteroids, antihistamines, or antibiotics. Early intervention is crucial to prevent complications. Allergy Test My Pet® is recommended for identifying sensitivities. Breeders are committed to their dogs' health and participate in research to improve genetics and develop specialized dog food.
