Deposit, Refund &
Reservation Policy.

This page documents all reservation, refund, return, and cancellation terms for Stokeshire Designer Doodles. By placing a deposit or purchasing from the Lifestyle Store, you agree to the applicable terms below.

Governed by Wisconsin State Law Taylor County Jurisdiction Stokhaus Media, LLC

Puppy Reservation +
Refund Policy

Binding on Deposit Wisconsin State Law

A reservation fee of $500 + applicable Wisconsin sales tax secures your place on the waitlist for a specific Stokeshire litter. This fee is applied in full toward the final purchase price of your puppy and constitutes confirmation of your intent to proceed with placement.

Sales tax is collected and remitted directly to the State of Wisconsin and is non-refundable under all circumstances.

If cancellation is requested prior to confirmed breeding, 90% of the reservation fee is refundable. The remaining 10% covers administrative and processing costs and is not returned.

Breeding is defined as either live cover or artificial insemination confirmed through veterinary or breeder records. This timestamp is maintained in internal records and is not subject to client notification requirements.

Once breeding has occurred, the reservation fee becomes fully non-refundable regardless of individual circumstances. The following do not qualify as reasons for refund after breeding:

  • Change of mind, including interest in a different breed, breeder, or lifestyle change
  • Financial hardship or change in circumstances after reservation
  • Timeline changes — litter delays, heat cycle shifts, or scheduling conflicts
  • Puppy preferences not met — gender, coat, color, size, or markings unavailable
  • Medical issues, relocation, or personal events affecting ability to receive a puppy
  • Non-response to emails, missed communications, or scheduling failures
  • Miscarriage, loss of pregnancy, or no puppies produced from the breeding

Your payment constitutes acceptance of these conditions. The non-refundable clause protects the integrity of our breeding decisions and program allocation. We breed only when demand justifies it — initiated breeding represents an irreversible commitment of time, care, and resources.

Reservation fees may be transferred one time to a future litter within 24 months of the original payment date, subject to the following conditions:

  • Transfer request must be submitted in writing prior to Puppy Selection Day
  • Transfers are granted only if space is available on the desired litter
  • Failure to request a transfer before Selection Day results in forfeiture with no credit
  • Only one transfer is permitted per reservation fee

The remaining balance is due no later than 72 hours before your scheduled go-home date. Failure to complete payment on time may result in loss of reserved placement, forfeiture of your deposit with no refund or credit, and release of the puppy to the next eligible family on the waitlist.

The POL upgrade fee is always non-refundable and non-transferable. This applies in all cases — including if you later decline to proceed, if your preferences are not met, or if you elect to pass on available puppies. The POL upgrade is a preference-based privilege, not a guarantee of a specific puppy.

Breeder obligation: If a female fails to produce viable puppies, Stokeshire will work to honor your POL upgrade on the next qualifying litter.

Client obligation: If viable puppies are produced and you elect to pass on the litter for any reason, your POL upgrade fee is forfeited.

Stokeshire reserves the right to limit or cancel breedings if fewer than three families are committed, change the stud on listed litters, and override POL placement order in rare cases based on the best interest of the puppy — including temperament, medical considerations, or therapy placement priority.

All training, transport, boarding, and associated service fees are non-refundable once paid or scheduled. No refund, credit, or reimbursement will be issued for any of these services under any circumstances.

The only exception to the non-refundable nature of the puppy purchase itself is covered under the Health Guarantee, which applies exclusively to undisclosed, life-threatening congenital conditions or medically documented allergies as reviewed under that policy.

Stokeshire publishes all key dates and updates — including heat cycles, breeding confirmation, birth, Selection Day, pickup, and training milestones — on the relevant litter page in advance. It is the sole responsibility of each client to stay informed by regularly monitoring their litter page and this website.

While courtesy emails are sent for major milestones, Stokeshire cannot guarantee email delivery due to spam filters, provider blocks, or inbox settings. Failure to receive or open an email does not alter any financial obligations, selection deadlines, or waitlist status.

Non-response: If we do not hear from you within 7 days of your scheduled Puppy Selection Day appointment, your deposit will be forfeited and your waitlist position may be reassigned to the next family.

By placing a deposit, you explicitly agree not to initiate a chargeback or payment dispute through your financial institution in contradiction of these terms. Stokeshire maintains detailed timestamped records of deposit acknowledgment and policy acceptance.

In the event of a chargeback attempt, Stokeshire reserves the right to submit all documentation to the payment processor for legal rebuttal, pursue recovery of funds including fees and damages via small claims court or collections, and bar future participation in the Stokeshire program.

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin. All disputes shall be resolved under the jurisdiction of Taylor County, WI.

A portion of every reservation fee supports the Red Fern Scholarship Fund, which exists to help place therapy-grade puppies with children and families experiencing hardship. Your participation in the Stokeshire program directly furthers this mission.

§
Binding Agreement

By submitting your deposit and proceeding with your reservation, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accept all terms in this Reservation Policy. This constitutes a legally enforceable agreement governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, jurisdiction of Taylor County, WI, and is binding under the U.S. E-SIGN Act and Wisconsin UETA.

Breeding Standards & Partner Principles — Stokeshire Designer Doodles
Stokeshire Designer Doodles · Medford, Wisconsin

Standards &
Principles.

Stokeshire holds two distinct sets of standards. One governs what we practice inside our breeding program — the decisions only we can make. The other governs what we require of the brands and products we recommend to families. This page documents both, separately and honestly.

I The Breeding Standard — what we own
II The Partner Standard — what we require
I
Part One
The Breeding Standard

These are practices Stokeshire controls directly — the decisions made inside our program, before a puppy ever meets a family. No partner, sponsor, or affiliate relationship influences them.

What we practice

Intentional from
the beginning.

Stokeshire Designer Doodles is a therapy-grade breeding and development program in Medford, Wisconsin. The program was built around a single premise: that the dog a family lives with for twelve to fifteen years deserves the same level of rigor applied to any long-term decision that matters.

Every standard below reflects a choice made under that premise — not a marketing position, and not a reaction to industry trends. These practices predate the language around ethical breeding becoming commercially useful. They exist because the alternative produces worse dogs and worse outcomes for families.

What "therapy-grade" means at Stokeshire

Stokeshire does not sell or certify therapy dogs. "Therapy-grade" refers to the nervous system profile we select for in breeding and confirm through Volhard Puppy Aptitude Testing — dogs that are genuinely calm under pressure, adaptable to varied environments, and capable of tolerating close human contact without stress. These traits make dogs suitable for therapy work if families choose to pursue it. They also make better family companions regardless of that goal.

01

Genetic Stewardship Through COI Reduction

Stokeshire structures breeding decisions around Coefficient of Inbreeding reduction using Embark Veterinary genetic testing. The goal is increasing genetic diversity across successive generations — counteracting the narrowing gene pool caused by the Popular Sire Effect in purebred and designer dog populations. Every breeding pair is evaluated for COI before pairing. Dogs that would increase COI above program thresholds are not bred together regardless of aesthetic or market demand. Health panel results, carrier status, and COI data are documented and available to families at placement.

02

Volhard Puppy Aptitude Testing at Seven Weeks

Every Stokeshire puppy is assessed using the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test at seven weeks of age — the developmental window at which behavioral tendencies are most clearly observable before environmental conditioning takes hold. The assessment evaluates ten behavioral categories including social attraction, following, restraint, social dominance, elevation, retrieving, touch sensitivity, sound sensitivity, sight sensitivity, and stability. Results inform placement decisions directly: each puppy is matched to a family profile based on score, not availability. Families are told which score profile their puppy holds and why that profile fits their household.

03

Selective Placement Over Volume

Stokeshire produces a limited number of litters per year. The waitlist is not first-come-first-served; placement is based on fit between household profile and puppy temperament assessment. Families who complete the application process may be declined if no available puppy in a litter is appropriate for their situation. This is not a sales practice — it is a refusal to place dogs in households where the probability of a poor outcome is elevated. A puppy placed in the wrong home is a failure of the program regardless of whether the sale completed.

04

OFA Health Clearances on All Breeding Dogs

All Stokeshire breeding dogs hold OFA health clearances for conditions relevant to their breed lines. Testing is conducted through licensed veterinary radiologists and ophthalmologists, with results registered in the OFA public database. Clearances are not performed selectively — every breeding dog is tested, not only dogs whose results are expected to be favorable. Embark panels screen for over 250 genetic health conditions and provide breed composition analysis. Results are shared with families at the time of placement and are factored into every breeding decision.

05

Lifetime Return Policy

Stokeshire accepts the return of any dog placed through the program at any point in the dog's life — no questions required, no financial penalty. This policy exists because the alternative — a placed dog surrendered to a shelter or sold by a family — is an outcome the program is responsible for preventing. The return policy functions as a structural accountability mechanism: breeders who cannot stand behind placements indefinitely have a different relationship to placement decisions than breeders who can. It also means Stokeshire families are never alone in a situation they cannot navigate.

06

The Stokeshire Method™ — Development Beyond Placement

The Stokeshire Method™ is a structured development program that extends beyond placement day. Families who enroll receive four weeks of on-site training through Doodle School or intensive Bootcamp formation, covering crate conditioning, leash manners, social exposure, recall foundations, and emotional regulation. The program is not an add-on designed to increase transaction value — it is the logical extension of the placement standard: a well-placed dog in an underprepared household is still a dog at risk of a poor outcome.

Part Two
The Partner Standard

These are the standards Stokeshire holds external brands and partners to. We do not manufacture products. What we do is curate — and curation is only worth something if the criteria are clear, documented, and honestly applied.

What we require of partners

Curation is only
worth something
if the criteria
are honest.

Stokeshire does not manufacture products or manage a supply chain. When we recommend a brand — on our website, in our training programs, or in the materials families receive at placement — we are representing that product to families who have extended us significant trust.

That trust is the only thing that gives a recommendation value. The standards below describe what a brand must demonstrate before earning placement in Stokeshire content. They are the standards of a curator, not a manufacturer — but they are real, applied, and not adjusted for sponsorship.

The distinction that matters

Stokeshire earns affiliate commissions on some recommended products. This is disclosed on all relevant pages. Disclosure does not change the standards a product must meet to earn a recommendation. No brand pays for placement. Brands that pay for placement are not recommended — they are advertisers, and Stokeshire does not run advertisements.

The practical test: would Stokeshire recommend this product to a family if there were no financial relationship? If the answer is no, the relationship is declined regardless of commission structure.

Standard · 01

Longevity Over Disposability

Stokeshire recommends products built for daily use over years, not seasons. A crate, collar, or bowl that needs replacement annually fails the longevity standard regardless of price point. We look for products made from materials that age well — structurally and aesthetically — and that are designed to be cleaned, repaired, or refilled rather than discarded. Buying fewer, better things is the most sustainable choice families can make. We reinforce that through what we recommend.

Standard · 02

Material Transparency

Brands Stokeshire partners with are transparent about what their products are made from. This means published ingredient lists for consumables, disclosed material sources for physical goods, and honest representation of what coatings, dyes, or chemical treatments are used. Products that cannot or will not disclose their material composition are not recommended to Stokeshire families — who are often researching for households with children, allergy considerations, and dogs with sensitive skin and coats.

Standard · 03

Ethical Labor Practices

Where and how a product is made is part of its quality. Stokeshire prioritizes brands whose manufacturing relationships are transparent — who can speak to the working conditions and labor standards of their supply chain without deflection. This is not a certification requirement we impose externally; it is a question we ask and a standard we apply in our judgment. Brands that cannot or will not answer the question do not pass this standard. We prefer regional and European production where it reflects genuine quality relationships, not marketing positioning.

Standard · 04

Safety for Dogs and Children

Stokeshire families are households — typically with children alongside their dogs. Products recommended must be safe for both. For nutrition and consumables, this means formulations reviewed against AAFCO standards and free of additives associated with adverse reactions in dogs. For physical products, this means materials free of heavy metals, endocrine-disrupting plastics, and chemical finishes that degrade with chewing or licking. We do not recommend products whose safety profile we cannot assess or that carry unresolved safety advisories.

Standard · 05

Alignment With Positive Training Methods

Stokeshire's training philosophy is built on positive reinforcement and nervous system regulation. Products that rely on aversive mechanisms — shock, prong, or correction-based tools — are not recommended regardless of efficacy claims. This standard applies to training tools, apps, and programs. We do not recommend equipment or methods that conflict with how Stokeshire trains the dogs it places, or that create inconsistency in a family's training approach during the critical first months of ownership.

Standard · 06

Minimized Environmental Footprint

Stokeshire favors brands actively working to reduce environmental impact — through recycled or recyclable materials, minimal packaging, sustainable sourcing, and honest environmental reporting. This is a preference, not a hard filter — a product can meet all other standards without a perfect environmental record. But where two otherwise comparable products exist, the one with lower environmental impact earns the recommendation. We do not accept "sustainable" as a marketing claim in the absence of specific, verifiable practices.

What Stokeshire will not do — regardless of financial offer
Accept payment in exchange for a product recommendation or editorial placement. Every recommendation is earned. Brands that want guaranteed placement are advertisers, not partners.
Recommend a product we have not evaluated against the standards above, regardless of commission structure or partnership agreement.
Suppress a disclosure. All affiliate relationships are disclosed on the pages where links appear. No exception is made for preferred partners or annual program sponsors.
Partner with other breeding programs, puppy marketplaces, or commercial dog sellers. The conflict of interest is irreconcilable with honest family guidance.
Recommend a product that makes health claims we cannot independently verify — including allergen-free promises, disease-prevention guarantees, or efficacy claims unsupported by peer-reviewed research.
Allow retroactive edits to published content at a partner's request. What is published reflects our honest assessment at the time of publication. Partners do not hold editorial control.
Our Commitment

The future of
dog ownership
is more thoughtful
than this.

"Care is a form of luxury. Responsibility is part of love."

Stokeshire exists at the intersection of genetic science, behavioral development, and the lived experience of families who take this seriously. The standards on this page are the structural expression of that position — not a promise of perfection, but a documented commitment to the reasoning behind every decision we make.

These standards are reviewed and updated as the program evolves. What does not change is the underlying question: does this improve life for the dog, support the family, and respect the world they live in.

Honest Recommendations

We tell families what we actually use, what we actually test, and what we actually believe — including when the honest answer is "we don't know."

Continuous Standard Review

Standards are evaluated against new research, partner performance, and observed outcomes in placed dogs. A standard that stops producing good outcomes gets revised.

Education Over Sales

A family who understands what they're choosing makes a better decision than a family who was sold to. Stokeshire content is designed to produce understanding — conversion is the outcome of that, not the goal.

Volume Restraint

Stokeshire does not scale breeding to meet demand. The number of litters produced is determined by the capacity to meet the standards above — not by waitlist length or revenue targets.

Generational Thinking

The Stokeshire breeding program is structured around the long-term development of a proprietary American companion breed — The Stokeshire. Decisions made today are evaluated against a ten-generation horizon, not a single litter.

While Doodle breeds are commonly described as hypoallergenic, there is no scientific guarantee that any dog is completely free of allergens. Individual reactions vary significantly, and no breeder can promise that a dog will not trigger an allergic response in a specific person.

Stokeshire uses the term "hypoallergenic" with caution. Our dogs may produce fewer allergens than some other breeds, but we cannot ensure that they will be suitable for every allergy sufferer. Families with known sensitivities are encouraged to spend time with our dogs before making a commitment.

Unfurnished coat varieties (RSPO2 negative) are not marketed as hypoallergenic under any circumstances. See your individual dog's genetic documentation for furnishings status.

Predicting the adult size of a puppy is an inherently complex and uncertain process. Any size estimate provided by Stokeshire — verbal or written — is an approximation intended as a general planning reference only, not a guarantee.

Size is influenced by a combination of genetic factors from both parent lines, environmental conditions during early development, generation (F1, F1B, multigen), and the interaction of multiple breed backgrounds in designer crossbreeds. These variables cannot be controlled or predicted with certainty.

Stokeshire cannot guarantee or warrant the adult size, weight, or height of any puppy. Families for whom adult size is a critical factor are strongly encouraged to consult with a licensed veterinarian, who can evaluate the individual puppy and apply their clinical experience to provide a more informed estimate.

Every puppy is unique. Breed, size, temperament, and individual development all influence training outcomes. While the Doodle School program is designed to provide structured early-life formation, foundational routine, and emotional regulation, Stokeshire makes no guarantees regarding specific outcomes or behavioral results.

Puppies mature at different rates and respond to training methods differently. Even after completing a full program, ongoing daily reinforcement is required for continued progress. Training is a lifelong commitment — Doodle School equips you and your dog with a strong foundation, but the work does not end at graduation.

Refund Policy: All Doodle School and training fees are non-refundable under any circumstances. Fees are paid directly to independent contractors involved in the training process and cannot be recovered once the program has begun.

Waiver

Effective July 2025 Stokhaus Media, LLC

This Agreement is entered into between Stokeshire Designer Doodles, operated by Stokhaus Media LLC ("Seller"), and the Buyer in connection with the purchase, training, ownership, or visitation of any dog bred, raised, or trained by Stokeshire ("Puppy" or "Dog").

By completing the checkout process, the Buyer confirms they have read, understood, and accepted all terms herein. This Agreement is legally enforceable and cannot be modified by any verbal or written statement outside of the incorporated documents below.

Puppies are sold as-is and are covered exclusively under the Stokeshire 3-Year Health & Wellness Partnership Guarantee for hereditary defects that significantly impair quality of life.

This guarantee excludes common puppy ailments including Giardia, Coccidia, ear mites, worms, stress-induced issues, allergies, or acquired infections. It requires a veterinary wellness exam scheduled within 48 hours of pickup, applies only to the original Buyer and is non-transferable, and requires written documentation and formal diagnosis to pursue a refund or replacement.

Cosmetic traits, temperament, conformation, size, and adult appearance are not guaranteed and are not covered under any portion of this Agreement.

All visitors, including the Buyer, voluntarily accept the inherent risks of entering private property and interacting with dogs or livestock. These risks include, but are not limited to: injury, illness, bites, allergies, tripping hazards, and property-related dangers.

The Buyer waives all claims against Stokeshire, its agents, and family members for any injury, loss, or damage sustained on-site or during off-site events, pickup, delivery, or travel related to the Dog.

Children must be supervised at all times. Outside pets may only enter the premises with prior approval.

The Buyer acknowledges the lifelong responsibilities and inherent risks of owning a dog, including but not limited to medical expenses, behavioral challenges, property damage, dog bites or aggression, and allergic or zoonotic exposure.

The Buyer agrees to indemnify and hold Stokeshire harmless for any legal or financial liability arising from the Dog's behavior after transfer of ownership.

All deposits and payments toward the purchase of a Stokeshire dog are non-refundable. No exceptions will be made for buyer remorse, allergy development, housing changes, travel conflicts, or dissatisfaction with breed traits, size, color, gender, or temperament.

At Stokeshire's sole discretion, the Buyer may defer their deposit to a future litter. Final payment must be completed on or before the scheduled pickup date. Failure to pay the remaining balance within 14 days of invoice voids the reservation and forfeits all paid funds.

Full terms are documented in the Reservation, Refund & Returns Policy.

Vaccination requirement: Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper (or up-to-date titers) are required at least 7 days prior to arrival. Proof of vaccination must be submitted in advance.

Risk assumption: While Stokeshire exercises reasonable care, we are not liable for kennel cough or viral/bacterial exposure, injury or escape during training or transport, or illness or death from natural causes or unforeseeable events.

Medical authorization: In the event of a veterinary emergency, Stokeshire may authorize necessary care on the Buyer's behalf. The Buyer is responsible for all related expenses.

While Stokeshire provides training support, we do not guarantee specific behavioral outcomes. The Buyer accepts that behavioral issues such as barking, chewing, crate resistance, or potty regression may occur after placement. These are normal aspects of puppy development and are not grounds for refund, replacement, or any claim against Stokeshire.

The Buyer grants Stokeshire the right to use photographs, videos, and the likeness of the Dog for marketing, educational, and promotional purposes without compensation or limitation. This right extends to all media formats and does not expire upon transfer of ownership.

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin. All disputes will be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration in Taylor County, WI.

Class action waivers apply. All claims must be brought individually. The prevailing party in any dispute is entitled to recover reasonable attorney fees and associated costs.

By completing checkout, the Buyer confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to all terms herein; that this Agreement cannot be changed via email, phone, or text; and that they accept full responsibility for the health, behavior, and well-being of their Dog after transfer.

This document represents the entire agreement between Buyer and Seller. No oral statements or communications outside of this Agreement and its incorporated policies are enforceable.

ACH / bank transfer fee None
Wisconsin sales tax of 5.5% applies to all puppy sales and related services. Processing fees on card payments are taxable in Wisconsin. Sales tax is remitted directly to the State of Wisconsin and is non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • Reservation deposit ($500 + tax) — due at the time of waitlist enrollment; reservation is not confirmed until payment clears
  • Formation / Doodle School fees — due in full at the time of scheduling; training does not begin until payment is received
  • Placement balance — due no later than 72 hours after Puppy Selection Day; failure to pay forfeits placement and deposit
  • Transport fees — included in the balance invoice; due with the placement balance
  • Lifestyle Store orders — charged at checkout; orders do not ship until payment clears

All deadlines are based on Central Time (CT). Payments received after a deadline are treated as non-payment regardless of time zone differences.

Failure to meet a payment deadline results in the following without further notice:

  • Your reserved placement is released to the next eligible family on the waitlist
  • All funds paid to date — including the reservation deposit and any formation fees — are forfeited with no refund or credit
  • Your position on the waitlist is voided; re-enrollment requires a new reservation deposit

Stokeshire is not obligated to provide payment reminders beyond the invoice itself. It is the client's responsibility to meet all deadlines as stated. Extensions are not available except at Stokeshire's sole and written discretion.

Klarna is available at checkout on eligible invoices and allows the total to be split into four interest-free installments, or financed over a longer period. Klarna's own terms, credit approval process, and payment schedule govern the financing arrangement directly between you and Klarna.

Regardless of your Klarna installment schedule, your full balance with Stokeshire must be settled before your puppy's go-home date. Klarna payment delays or disputes with Klarna do not extend Stokeshire's payment deadlines or affect our forfeiture policy.

Klarna financing does not eliminate the 72-hour balance deadline after Pick Day. If your Klarna plan does not clear your full balance by that deadline, your placement may be forfeited.

If you believe an invoice contains an error, contact us at hello@wisconsindesignerdoodles.com within 48 hours of receipt with a description of the discrepancy. We will review and, if warranted, issue a corrected invoice promptly.

Disputing an invoice does not suspend or extend the payment deadline. If a correction is confirmed, any overpayment will be applied as a credit toward your balance or refunded to the original payment method within 5–10 business days. Stokeshire does not issue refunds for accurately billed amounts.

Invoice corrections are issued in writing only. Verbal agreements regarding billing adjustments are not enforceable.

By submitting payment, you agree not to initiate a chargeback or payment dispute through your financial institution in contradiction of these terms. Stokeshire maintains timestamped records of all invoice acknowledgment, policy acceptance, and payment receipt.

In the event of a chargeback, Stokeshire reserves the right to submit all documentation to the payment processor for rebuttal, pursue recovery of funds — including fees and damages — via small claims court or collections, and permanently revoke your access to the Stokeshire program.

All disputes are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, jurisdiction of Taylor County, WI.

A digital receipt is emailed automatically following each completed payment. This receipt serves as your proof of transaction and, where applicable, as a digitally executed copy of your agreement under the E-SIGN Act and Wisconsin UETA.

Copies of prior invoices and receipts may be requested by emailing hello@wisconsindesignerdoodles.com. Requests should be made within 12 months of the original transaction. Stokeshire retains payment records in accordance with applicable Wisconsin record-keeping requirements.

Veterinary Care & Protocols Training Expectations

Stokeshire follows a comprehensive vaccination protocol to ensure your puppy enters your home with appropriate immunological protection. All records are included in your puppy's folder within the puppy pack. A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) is available upon request.

6 wks
DHLPP (1st core vaccine) — distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvovirus, parainfluenza
12 wks
DHLPP (2nd core vaccine) — administered before go-home after 4 weeks of Doodle School
16 wks
DHLPP (3rd and final) + Rabies — completed by the owner's veterinarian after go-home
12–16 wks
Heartworm preventative — begin as recommended by your veterinarian

Your veterinarian will continue the full vaccination, deworming, and wellness schedule tailored to your puppy's needs. Please share all records included in your puppy pack at your first vet appointment.

Deworming

Puppies are dewormed at 2, 4, 6, 8, and 12 weeks while in our care. We recommend continuing deworming every three months under your veterinarian's guidance.

Lyme Disease & Bordetella

If you live in or travel to Lyme-endemic areas, consult your vet about the Lyme vaccine. If your puppy will be exposed to other dogs or boarding environments, your vet may recommend Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccination.

Gut Health

Puppies are raised on a carefully selected diet that supports digestive health. To avoid upset, keep your puppy on the same food they received in our care. We recommend continuing probiotics and prebiotics — especially during high-stress periods such as transitioning to a new home or following veterinary visits. Each vaccination can temporarily impact gut health; proactive support reduces discomfort. Introduce any dietary changes slowly and in consultation with your veterinarian.

For the safety of all puppies and dogs in our care, all dogs over 16 weeks of age participating in any Stokeshire service must have current documentation of:

  • Rabies vaccination — required by law in most states; first dose administered between 14–16 weeks, boosted one year later, then every 1–3 years per vaccine type and local law
  • Core vaccines — distemper and Bordetella required; titer testing accepted for dogs with documented sensitivities

Proof of current vaccinations must be submitted at least 7 days prior to any boarding or training service. Consult your veterinarian about the appropriate schedule for your specific dog and state requirements.

As the new owner of a Stokeshire Designer Doodle, you are responsible for:

  • Scheduling and attending all follow-up veterinary appointments promptly after your puppy comes home
  • Continuing the vaccination, deworming, and health protocols as prescribed by your veterinarian
  • Understanding that while we maintain high standards of cleanliness, we cannot guarantee your puppy will be parasite-free due to environmental and social exposure during training
  • Notifying Stokeshire immediately if parasites are diagnosed after go-home, so we can assist in coordinating care with your veterinarian

Extended health testing — including DNA analysis and temperament evaluation — is available at an additional cost. Some tests require several weeks to return results. This level of testing is particularly valuable for families considering future breeding or seeking additional genetic documentation.

Doodle School builds a strong behavioral foundation — it does not produce a finished dog. We do not guarantee that your puppy will be fully potty-trained, crate-trained, or obedient in all commands by graduation. Training is an ongoing process that requires consistent effort from you after your puppy comes home.

Expect some regression when your puppy transitions to a new environment with different routines and sensory inputs. This is completely normal. Patience and consistency from you are the most important factors in long-term success.

Progress updates: You will receive weekly updates on your puppy's progress via email. Photos and video may be included at trainer discretion — some trainers prioritize hands-on work over documentation. Updates are not guaranteed on a fixed schedule.

If your expectation is a fully trained, flawless puppy from day one, Doodle School may not align with your needs. We deliver a strong foundation — the rest of the journey is built together.

Payment is due in full at the start of any service, including training, grooming, or boarding. All Doodle School fees are non-refundable — fees are paid directly to independent contractors and are subject to Wisconsin state and federal tax.

Late pickup: If you are unable to collect your puppy on the agreed-upon date, a boarding fee of $100 per day applies for up to 14 days. Extended care beyond 14 days is subject to additional fees at Stokeshire's discretion.

If your pet is not picked up and no alternative arrangements are made within 14 days of the scheduled departure, Stokeshire reserves the right to rehome the pet and refer any unpaid balances to collections.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances that prevent Stokeshire from fulfilling a service, a full refund will be issued. This exception does not apply to client-initiated cancellations.

If your puppy needs to be travel-ready by a specific date, Stokeshire may begin training earlier than planned to ensure full preparation. Our priority is a low-stress transition regardless of logistics.

The VIP Travel Service — starting at $500 — includes crate acclimation, travel certifications, and all required health paperwork for transport. Special care or travel requests will be accommodated when possible; additional fees may apply depending on the nature of the request.

Every Doodle School graduate includes a 30-day complimentary support period following go-home. Our team is available to answer questions, troubleshoot regressions, and support your transition.

After the complimentary period, custom individual support packages are available — including ongoing phone, email, and video consultations with our professional trainers. Fees are based on the level and frequency of support required and can be tailored to your schedule and training goals. Contact us for a personalized quote.

§
Contract Agreement

By enrolling your puppy in Doodle School or any related service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to all terms in Document I. This contract applies to the current enrollment and all future stays, training sessions, and service engagements with Stokeshire Designer Doodles.

Waiver &
Liability

Health & Safety Liability Indemnification

Stokeshire Designer Doodles and any subcontracted entities exercise due and reasonable care to ensure the safety and welfare of all pets in our care. Despite these efforts, we cannot be held responsible for unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to disease, injury, theft, fire, or unavoidable accidents.

In the event of illness or injury, the owner or designated emergency contact will be notified immediately. We will consult your designated veterinarian; however, Stokeshire reserves the right to seek care from our trusted veterinary partner if required. After-hours emergencies are directed to Medford Veterinary Clinic. All medical expenses — including treatment and medications — are the owner's responsibility.

The health guarantee covers life-threatening congenital or genetic conditions arising within the first 36 months of ownership. If such a condition is diagnosed, Stokeshire will reimburse up to the purchase price or offer a replacement puppy at our discretion.

  • Claims must be submitted within 14 days of diagnosis, accompanied by complete veterinary documentation
  • A preliminary veterinary examination must be scheduled within 48 hours of pickup; failure to do so voids the guarantee unless Stokeshire is notified in writing prior to go-home
  • The guarantee applies to the original buyer only and is non-transferable

Full terms are documented in the Stokeshire 3-Year Health & Wellness Partnership Guarantee.

Dog training involves inherent risk. By participating in any Stokeshire training service, you waive all claims against Stokeshire Designer Doodles and its subcontractors for injuries or damages arising from training activities, and agree to hold Stokeshire harmless from any third-party claims related to your dog's behavior during or after training.

You also agree to:

  • Allow your dog to be transported for training or veterinary visits as needed
  • Consent to your dog being photographed and recorded during training sessions; these materials may be used for educational and promotional purposes without claim for compensation or invasion of privacy

In the event of injury or death resulting from proven negligence on Stokeshire's part, compensation will be limited to a reimbursement up to the original purchase price of the dog, or a replacement puppy upon request.

Claims must be supported by independent evidence establishing negligence. Compensation will not be issued for injury or death resulting from unforeseeable events, environmental exposures, or conditions outside of Stokeshire's reasonable control.

Stokeshire Designer Doodles and its agents are not responsible for damages or injuries caused by your dog to other people, animals, or property. We assume no responsibility for your dog's behavior once they leave our care.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Stokeshire Designer Doodles and all affiliated entities from any claim, liability, injury, damages, or loss arising from your dog's behavior or actions — whether during training sessions, events, or at any point following transfer of ownership.

While Stokeshire adheres to a strict deworming protocol throughout Doodle School, the extensive socialization component — which takes place outside controlled, sanitized spaces — means we cannot guarantee complete freedom from parasites at the time of go-home.

We recommend ongoing prevention through regular veterinary checkups, routine deworming treatments, and keeping your dog's living area clean. If parasites are diagnosed after your puppy leaves our care, please notify us immediately so we can assist in coordinating treatment with your veterinarian.
